Fracture

So it's a fracture after all. In soft cast now, will 'upgrade' to hard cast on 1st March. Many thanks to /S for bringing me to hospital and sending me back and bringing me down to Q Room and sending me back and for all the words of concern. You guys rock!!

So my life's been dumbed down to this. PS2, my beloved computer, tv and bed. Sounds like a dream to many of you Muggers out there but it gets boring after a while. And I don't get to sleep well at night at all 'cause it feels damn uncomfy sleeping with a big ass cast on your leg. Worst part is it still hurts a lot so I can't move around much.

Anyway, I watched this reality show "Beauty and the Geek" just now. 7 beautiful women with poor academic skills and 7 geeks with poor social skills pair up in a house. Each week 1 pair gets kicked out and the remaining pair gets US$250,000!! Some of the women are really bimbotic and can't spell the words "tattoo" or "calendar". And some of the geeks are reaaaaaally geeky. One of them has a nosebleed everytime he gets excited or something like that.

The beginning when they had to choose their own room, all the girls were scrambling for the rooms with seperate beds 'cause none of them wanted to share their bed with a geek. The best part is when one girl makes out with a geek from another pair. The girl's partner in the show is upset 'cause he likes her but there's nothing he can do about it.

He puts it best when he says, "If I went into depression everytime I saw a girl I like with another guy, I'd be depressed my entire life."

How sad is that!! For the geeks, it's like a treasured experience for them and for the ladies, they learn that sometimes geeks can be kinda cute. I really like this show a lot 'cause it's quite a fresh concept and the contestants show very real reactions to situations. It's like watching a social experiment at work.

I can't wait for the next episode, though the girl I liked best was the first pair to be kicked out!! Uggghhhhh!! And I think 6 episodes is really way too short. But there's a "Beauty and the Geek 2". So hope the show gets popular enough that the second series gets aired on local TV as well.

The Fisher King

It begins when the king is a boy. He has to spend a night alone in the forest, to prove his courage so he can become a king. And while he's spending the night alone, he is visited by a sacred vision.

Out of the fire, appears the Holy Grail. A symbol of God's divine grace.

And a voice said to the boy: "You shall be keeper of the grail, so that it may heal the hearts of men."

But the boy was blinded by greater visions of a life filled with power and glory and beauty. And in his state of radical amazement, he felt for a brief moment not like a boy, but invincible...like God. So he reached into the fire to take the grail, but the grail vanished, leaving him with his hand in the fire, to be terribly wounded.

Now, as this boy grew older, his wound grew deeper, until one day, life for him lost its reason. He had no faith in any man, not even himself. He couldn't love or feel loved. He was sick with the experience. He began to die.

One day, a fool wandered into the castle and found the king alone. Being a fool, he was simple minded, he didn't see a king. He saw a man alone and in pain.

And he asked the king, "What ails you, friend?"

And the king replied, "I'm thirsty, I need some water to cool my throat."

So the fool took a cup from beside his bed, filled it with water and handed it to the king. As the king began to drink, he realised his wound was healed. He looked in his hands and there was the Holy Grail, that which he sought all of his life.

He turned to the fool and asked in amazement: "How could you find that, which my brightest and bravest could not?"

And the fool replied: "I don't know. I only know that you were thirsty."

Hurt

This really sucks. Hurt my shin. Badly. Now I can't walk. Got to go hospital tomorrow to get x-ray done. Can't even hop on one leg properly cuz even hopping causes my injured leg to hurt.

Karma at work. I commited a red card-worthy foul on the guy by kicking him as he ran past me. Who's the one hurting now? And he even walked over to apologise for injuring me. I felt like the biggest prick on planet earth.

I'm guessing I fractured something 'cause the sound of impact was a loud "Piak!" Like a dry twig snapping into two. Ouch.

Guess I'd upset the balance of my Universe by having too much fun on friday night. That's why I got hurt. To return my Universe to equilibrium.

Lesson learnt : Great times never last. And never kick someone bigger than you.

Yummy

Opened my V-day present on thurs. GuyLian chocs. Someone gave me GuyLian chocs last time too for "Friendship Day" aka V-day in disguise. Although this time Godiva chocs were thrown in too. They only served to whip up my appetite for more chocolate.

Was deeply disappointed when I found out that Fullerton's Choc Buffet was fully booked this weekend. Fact is I was bitching about it throughout gym 'till the guys cannot take it. Luckily there was still Max Brenner's Chocolate Bar at Esplanade.

Suckao, Chocolate fondue and Italian thick chocolate. I especially liked the Italian thick chocolate 'cause it's really really thick and had a coffee-like strong aftertaste. Recommended for those of you who like a stronger taste for their hot chocolate.

So after the chocolate treat, we headed down to Newton. This time we decided to try eating on the side that faces the main road. We were damn lucky 'cause we stumbled upon this nice Teo Chew porridge stall called "松". And we found tasty fried rice and La-La from a "Best BBQ & Seafood" 煮炒 stall. Just look for the Malay lady who speaks chinese fluently.

Oh yeah! And some stall was playing this retro chinese/canto cd. Got a few mambo retro songs sung in cantonese!! Quite stunning. I was wondering what if the canto versions were the original versions!! That would be a real shocker.

Anyway, was supposed to go prawn-fishing with Weiyou and Aozhi like right now but got cancelled. So I decided to blog about today since I'm free. It was such a satisfying night out. I love yummy stuff. Yummy Yummy Yummy!!!

Anyway, last night's gathering at Les' was fun. We had lots of laughs and plenty to drink. At the end I was so tired that I was falling asleep at the couch. Great night that. Les flying off tomorrow morn so we'll all be missing him 'till he's back. Take care and Good luck!!!

Today was lunch with the PJ clique at Ding Tai Fung. The braised beef noodle soup was quite good. Then off to play soccer at Tanglin field. 2-2 draw but got a few incidents. Such as John suddenly puking on the field 'cause of the drinking from the night before. Les doing a dramatic fall in the penalty box that gave us a laugh but no penalty.

Updating is at a premium right now 'cause I'm going blind from surfing all those "various sites" I mentioned in the meme above. Have a nice day!!
